Soros-Linked Group Sues VA

It’s time for a new category, “2 Degrees of Soros”, as it’s highly noticeable that a lot of groups linked to multi-bazillionaire “Philanthropist” (defined: left wing donor) George Soros continually make front page news, and are not identified as part of the Soros network of left-wing groups.  Does it bother anyone else that an incredibly wealthy furriner has devoted his efforts and wealth to destroying a US President?

Today’s newsburst from the Soros Network was picked up by the AP (link). Under the headline “Injured Iraq War Vets Sue VA Over Delays”, the AP reports that:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Frustrated by delays in health care, a coalition of injured Iraq war veterans is accusing VA Secretary Jim Nicholson of breaking the law by denying them disability pay and mental health treatment.

The class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, filed Monday in federal court in San Francisco, seeks broad change in the agency as it struggles to meet growing demands from veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Suing on behalf of hundreds of thousands of veterans, it charges that the VA has failed warriors on several fronts — from providing prompt disability benefits, to adding staff to reduce wait times for medical care to boosting services for post-traumatic stress disorder.

I can’t say in fact whether the suit has merit.  Being the government, there must be failures, but I’m guessing some things are exaggerated, the report seems to be. You have to get to the bottom of the article to find the groups who filed the suit:

The veterans groups involved in the lawsuit are Veterans for Common Sense in Washington, D.C., which claims 11,500 members, and Veterans United for Truth, based in Santa Barbara, California, with 500 members.

Veterans for Common Sense is funded in part by the Ploughshare Fund (link), which is funded in part by the Soros Open Society Institute (link). The President of Veterans United for Truth is former President George H.W. Bush’s 1988 rival Michael Dukakis (link).

In itself, a lawsuit isn’t political and if this were done alone, I would find it to be coincidental.  But the conspiratorial side can’t help but question why there always seems to be some type of Soros money lurking nearby when media events that are anti-Iraq war, anti-Bush, or pro-Democrat happen.  Like the YearlyKos convention being sponsored by Soros-backed (link) JetBlue Airlines (link)… or the Soros-backed (and federal grant recipient) Council of LaRaza (link) and other aligned groups sharing the same points in favor of amnesty… and let’s not forget Soros-backed MediaMatters and other groups calling for the revival of the fairness doctrine (link).
