Today the news coverage of this (link) story managed to hit the AP wire:

NEW YORK (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday that Republican John McCain was “losing his bearings” for repeatedly suggesting the Islamic terrorist group Hamas preferred Obama for president.

But somehow this one didn’t make the cut, as of the time of this posting this is the only news story on google with this story (link):

One of Barack Obama’s Middle East policy advisers disclosed today that he had held meetings with the militant Palestinian group Hamas - prompting the likely Democratic nominee to sever all links with him.

Robert Malley told The Times he had regularly been in contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza but is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organisation. Such talks, he stressed, were related to his work for a conflict resolution think tank and had no connection with his position on Mr Obama’s Middle East advisory council.

Of course, it couldn’t be that our American news media was too busy fawning over a candidate’s bluejeans to report this. Or could it? (link)

I’m sure the Sunday news shows will be smoothing all over this Hamas connection too…

This is a lot like Obama calling Matt Lauer “Tim” (as in Russert) three times the other day.  When McCain screws up, he’s having a “senior moment”. But when it’s Obama, well, he just hasn’t gotten much sleep. (Poor guy)…

But I guess we should just steel ourselves for four more years of this nonsense. And don’t be surprised about the Obama campaign’s FARC/Hugo Chavez connection when that comes out.  But that’ll be no big deal either.
