(h/t Snowflakesinhell) The Gubbamint has declared war on self-defense, and be advised that wherever the tools that could be used for last-resort self-defense by law-abiding citizens lurk, the nanny-state will be there to wag her giant finger of disapproval. Assisted opening knives open with a little more than a button-push of a switchblade. The definition of a switchblade is made pretty much by US Customs, which is seeking to reclassify the assisted-opening knife (I had a Kershaw leek assisted-opener in my pocket as I read this) as a switchblade (link).
The American Knife & Tool Institute says that this jeopardizes all pocket-knives (link).
