Homeland chief warns against anti-Muslim backlash

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - The U.S. Homeland Security secretary says she is working to prevent a possible wave of anti-Muslim sentiment after the shootings at Fort Hood in Texas.

Janet Napolitano says her agency is working with groups across the United States to try to deflect any backlash against American Muslims following Thursday’s rampage by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The shootings left 13 people dead and 29 wounded.

Napolitano was in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for talks with security officials and a meeting with women university students in Abu Dhabi.

There she is, in Abu Dhabi, looking for the next terrorists to strike US soil? Maybe the Abu Dhabi women university students will direct the DHS Secretary to this article about the mosque Major Hasan went to with 9/11 hijackers (link).  He developed his views somewhere.

The news media has made a lot of excuses for the guy: psychological scars from working with returning combat veterans, abuse over his faith, and not wanting to deploy overseas (after accepting Army dollars for his career development). Let’s see how long till some type of note, video, or web posting defines his motive.

In addition to the President’s insensitivity (took him till Saturday to call the act despicable, after he lectured Americans not to jump to conclusions…), I think it’s highly insensitive of DHS Secretary Napolitano to say this.

How many mosques burnt down after 9/11?  How many Muslims were killed on the streets?  We’re Americans, not scumbag third-worlders like the rest of the world that the UN-loving socialists want us to look up to.  We’re not in a state of anarchy where an attack by one sect demands retribution by another.

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.

One senior lawmaker said the CIA had, so far, refused to brief the intelligence committees on what, if any, knowledge they had about Hasan’s efforts.

CIA director Leon Panetta and the Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, have been asked by Congress “to preserve” all documents and intelligence files that relate to Hasan, according to the lawmaker.

On Sunday, Senator Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) called for an investigation into whether the Army missed signs as to whether Hasan was an Islamic extremist.

“If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have a zero tolerance,” Lieberman told Fox News Sunday.

Can we jump to some conclusions now about this as an act of “terrorism”?

Let me jump to a conclusion:  This was a deliberate act of treason/terrorism that was planned and executed during the politicized Department of Homeland Security infrastructure run by Janet “Big Sis” Napolitano.  Let me guess: they were just about to send over the information that there was a MAJOR in the US ARMY who tried to contact Al Qaeda recruiters but were not sure who to contact?  Anyone who knew about this and didn’t “run around with their hair on fire” should be discharged.

Perhaps the Obama Administration was so busy flitting around the world sucking up to our enemies that they forgot that their duty is to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
