I haven’t commented on this yet, so let me dive in. Recently our President wussed out of taking accountability for bringing non-uniformed enemy combatants (whose fate could be resolved quickly in military tribunals under the Geneva convention were it not for Left-wing turd lawyers) to criminal trials in the United States. I don’t like the idea of conferring any Constitutional rights on these bastards, because if you didn’t mirandize them (on the battlefield) it’s problematic, no? Also, how do you propose bringing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the planner of the 9/11 attacks to trial in New York City as a “fair trial” if you confer US Constitutional rights on him. Will they throw out his confession because he was waterboarded?
But don’t look at it only as conferring Constitutional rights on these terrorists, look at it as diminishing or devaluing your Constitutional rights. If KSM and his compatriots are tried and convicted in the same venue as they committed a crime, by a jury that’s not really their peers (doesn’t believe in worldwide Sharia law and a Caliphate), with confessions elicited through enhanced interrogations, without a speedy trial, and without being mirandized, doesn’t it set precedent that we don’t want in our federal criminal courts?
Think about it, isn’t this what the radicals in this administration want? There’s the terrorist (Major Hasan) who’s not a terrorist, but DHS warns of right-wing extremism. Imagine what happens if there’s a Tim McVeigh type bombing in this day and age? The apparatus is being put in place to punish any opposition against the Obama Magic Change machine.
Don’t believe me? Juxtapose these statements and tell me you’re not the same in their minds. In case you didn’t know that the US Attorney General is a major asshat, he reserved his harshest words for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (link):
In remarks prepared before Wednesday’s hearing, Holder says such concerns are misplaced, because judges can control unruly defendants and any pronouncements by Mohammed would only make him look worse.
“I have every confidence the nation and the world will see him for the coward he is,” Holder says in a written version of his remarks obtained by The Associated Press. “I’m not scared of what (Mohammed) will have to say at trial – and no one else needs to be either.”
Holder says the public and the nation’s intelligence secrets can be protected during a public trial in civilian court.
“We need not cower in the face of this enemy,” Holder says. “Our institutions are strong, our infrastructure is sturdy, our resolve is firm, and our people are ready.”
Yeah, that was pretty harsh. Wait, what’s that you say? My memory’s pretty bad, who else did Holder refer to as a “coward”? Oh really, that’s right! He said the United States is a “nation of cowards” (link):
“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,” Holder said.
Just another little bizarre moment in the Obamanation.
