Scarborough Country
Check this video out over at Captain’s Quarters (link). Joe Scarborough, who’s replacing Imus as the offensive morning show person on MSNBC, asks Congressional Quarterly’s Craig Crawford if Jeri Kehn, Fred Thompson’s wife, and a mother of two children, “works the pole.
SCARBOROUGH: Have you seen Fred Thompson’s wife?
CRAWFORD: Oh, yeah.
SCARBOROUGH: You think she thinks she works the pole?
CRAWFORD: That’s what a Hollywood career will do for you, I guess.
SCARBOROUGH: What do you mean?
CRAWFORD: You get wives like that.
SCARBOROUGH: I mean, look at that guy. God bless him, I love his voice. But I mean, you know. He ain’t Robert Redford in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
CRAWFORD: Well I would like to see him back into politics because I think he’s a lousy actor.
Classy, fellas, classy. Well Joe, maybe he opted not to go under the knife, unlike some congressional alum’s who have television careers. (link) I’m still waiting for Media Matters to speak up, given their position on Imus’ replacement (link):
”In the wake of the Imus controversy, it is important that all media figures keep in mind both the responsibility they hold and the crucial role they play in shaping the public discourse on the airwaves. They should take this opportunity to elevate the tone, quality, and accuracy of the public debate.
